After winning the Galway arm of the JCI Friendly business awards last month in the category of “Best Digital Experience” we reckon it’s about time to give some long overdue credit to the people that made it happen but before we do any chance of a vote here to help us win the national award. Our initial road into the digital market place was a rocky one. Everywhere you turn in the digital space someone is trying to sell you something, €1000 for this, €2000 for that, at one point we had someone quote us €27,000 for a website. With a little bit of luck we found the guys at www.thehiddencollective.com. After a few initial meetings it was outlined to us that what we really needed was a framework where we could hang our hat. After that we were encouraged to add or take away from the framework ourselves in the easily understandable back end. I remember Marty saying don’t be afraid of it, when you **** it up I will charge you well to fix it. That was it we were launched online. Now most of the I.T work is done by ourselves and when we do inevitably **** up the guys at The Hidden Collective put us back together again.
Photography is another minefield we encountered on our journey into the digital space. It was at this point that we hooked up with Donal Kelly a local photographer who introduced us to the art of the creative shot. Donal has a great eye and examples of his work can be seen on www.donalkelly.com. If you need a fresh perspective on what you do and how you would like others to see it Donal has that eye for the creative.
